Pharmacist of Švencionys and businessman. At first, he started to buy herbs from people, create herbal mixes, and sell them in his pharmacy shop. This activity was profitable and he builds small company-factory which was called „Fabryka ziol leczniczych Taraseiski i Sinovie“.
1883
A small herbal factory was built in Švenčionys, founded by pharmacist N. Taraseiskis. This date is also associated with the beginning of the pharmaceutical industry in Lithuania.
1924
Another herbal purchasing and processing company was established in Svencionys. The new company started to compete with N. Taraseiskis and quickly took over market share from him.
1935
Švenčionys Herbal Factory was the leading and most active export point of medicinal plants in Lithuania.
1937
Taraseiskis had no choice, but to merge firms with competitors, and Gromoc became the shareholder of the factory.
1939
The war started and trade in herbs was disrupted.
1940
Factory was nationalized. At that time, the material base of the factory consisted of 4 large production buildings, 7 brick raw material warehouses, 5 wooden warehouses, and 3 heated dryers.
1944
Due to a war, 80% of the factory buildings and production machinery were destroyed.
1945
Repairs to the only surviving building have begun.
1959
Until this time, all production processes were made by hand, Later, various machines were adapted to herbal processing.
1982
Production increased by 57.3%, sales by 93.3% compared to 1952.
2002
Reconstruction of the factory was completed and new technological equipment was installed.
2021
Today Švenčionių Vaistažolių factory is a herbal processing company with the latest technological and laboratory equipment, awarded with many evaluations and certificates.
